Sanitasi aman, keluarga nyaman.

PROTECT YOUR FAMILY'S HEALTH BY WISELY MANAGING SEPTIC TANKS

The Government, through the collaboration of the Ministry of Health, Bappenas, and the IUWASH Program, continues to campaign for "Safely Managed Sanitation" to protect groundwater quality. The key lies in understanding that a septic tank is not a trash bin, but a biological waste treatment system that functions with the help of decomposing bacteria.
To ensure this system runs optimally and does not contaminate the environment, the community must avoid two types of septic tank "enemies":

  1. Avoid "CLOGGING" Items Never dispose of solid waste such as diapers, cigarette butts, sanitary pads, or tissues into the toilet. These items are non-biodegradable (cannot decompose naturally) and will trigger physical blockages in the plumbing, causing the toilet to clog and overflow, which carries the risk of spreading diseases.
  2. Stop Pouring "BACTERIA-KILLING" Liquids Septic tanks require live bacteria to decompose human waste. Disposing of harsh chemicals such as floor cleaners, porcelain cleaners, disinfectants (carbolic acid), pesticides, paint, or even cooking oil and kerosene into the toilet is a fatal error. These substances will kill the decomposing bacteria, causing treatment failure, rapid tank filling, and ultimately causing toxic effluent (wastewater) to seep out and contaminate dug wells or community water sources.

Let’s create a healthy environment through simple behaviors: dispose of trash in the bin, and ensure only biological waste enters the septic tank. Safe sanitation, happy family.
